Between 2007 and 2012, the African Collection at Yale processed over 5000 items in African languages, some from the backlog along with many incoming books. These represented a little over 300 languages, accounting for about a fifth of the languages found on the continent.
We were fortunate to have the assistance of the Arcadia Fund and the leadership of Dorothy C. Woodson in pursuing this effort.
